Bio
Cristiano Ceretti was born in Milan in December 1973. Ever since he was a little boy, he finds drawing to be his preferred form of expression. Also photography will become an inseparable working tool. At 16 he leaves his family nest to go to Los Angeles. He get to know a whole new reality. This experience exponentially expands his vision of the world and further frees his imagination. During his studies year Erasmus program in the desired London, which will go to become the starting point for his pilgrimages around the world. Graduated as an architect he start working in a creative laboratory remaining part of the team until he reaches the position of the Art Director. He faces various tasks, from graphic to concept design, from editing to publishing of arts projects. Galleria in Galleria, is one of the main project he took care of during this time. A contemporary art setting for the Milano’s public transports. The company dynamics draws his attention towards the abuse of power in interpersonal relationships and it represents the focus of his work, mirroring the society of today.
Work
It is obvious to everyone’s look this work is focus on sex. That’s because, in the artist vision, sex is what mostly represents human animal nature. Looking at contemporary sex habits is the artist way of telling about human challenge. The artist idea is to call up women tampons as a symbol of a today’s need of taking distance from the primate nature. That’s why the work is called TAMPAXLOVE. Cartoon drawing represents the language media use to make people escape from reality and photograph is the artist’s trick to bring the attention back to it.
