Sigis Vinylism
Bio/Work
Sigis Vinylism the century Matteo Vaccari Sigismondi was born January 27, 1978 in Milan. Record collector always emerges as a DJ from a young age in a period where the DJ was not considered a profession but a hobby for boys. His cultural background has always been impregnated by music from those discs companions in life ... but also joy and pain of change. Years pass and Sigis starts to become a man. A man who feels compelled to say something in an accurate, easy sweet and exuberant. Inspired by his records, so a night begins to bend the first to become a rose. It was August 7, 2007. From this moment Sigis Vinylism he understood that silence could be the best way to say things accurately on a journey exhilarating. Since December 2008 is one of the leading artists of the prestigious Gallery of Monaco GAM, alongside names such as Magritte, Picasso and Basquiat, and begins to participate in international fairs, shows and charity events.
Matteo Antonio Vaccari Sigismondi, with an inexpugnable innocence and humility, tells us about a trip of a life time, where he becomes protagonist of his story, symbol of a magistra lesson. Testimony of an exordium, his attitude is eccentrically geared against main stream predictable behaviour, contributing to define his image... his myth. His work, releasing poetic value, is tormented by subtle conceptualism and forged with a bodily restlessness, pervaded by a pure mind excitement. At the origins of his process of creation a mission, a constructive, silent protest, generated from the strong sensibility of a body where vibrates a passionate heart which does not surrender to the suffering of torn life experience. It is a simple proof of love permeated with a strong desire to shorten the distance between himself and the world, to defy the jaded hanger and passive astonishment of people. Sigis, his pseudonym and trademark, epitomizes his identity, containing an operational dichotomy in which we find the artist and his icons of vinyl. The strong conceptualized art work is pictured with eccentric expressivity. His talent is eclectic and generously fine. The artist, through his art work, does not cry the
torment of a past experience, of his emotional heredity, but he illustrates it and donates it to the public with irrepressible passion. A true abundance of art work all preciously signed with
a colourful unique vinyl piece. The metamorphosis of the vinyl record takes place in his
art workshop. Bent, but never broken, diverse shapes cameto life; lacquered roses and lips... red for passion, black for pain and gold... Symbols, not of a banal discourse but fruit of a deep reflexion. Mouthes, metaphors of words and communication discretely hide though theirs bright colours proclaiming a state of mind...One must have the right dimension to be able to hear this lips and their screamed silences and those roses corroded by passion. We must syntonize our hearing to understand the complex relationship between conscious exteriority and unconscious interiority of our Ego, to seize the exential language... imperceptible to the eyes, aimed to a fine, trained gaze. Throughout his art work Sigis proceed in one direction,
to give-off and spread a message... leave a trace of what has been... provoke a reaction which does not end to itself, but constructively help to turn the page of experience. In the provocation aimed at the spectator, the soul does not openly have a role to play. The mind is like an one-button recorder... switched-on to the memory frequency.
