Bio/Work

The Italian photographer Tony Federico works between Milan and Copenhagen. He portrays celebrities – like Dalai Lama, Naomi Campbell, Giorgio Armani – fashion models and common people – like in the series on Indi-a. For Life is a work of art, Tony presents Portraits of celebrities and Noir. The latter is a project which has involved the noir writer Andrea G. Pinketts, who is caught in dark, glamorous atmospheres and positions, together with a fetish model. The man, whatever he is a slave or a naked angel, is the counter-party of a female goddess, and both play a seductive game, where every detail, every light’s nuance structure a plastic space, as a metaphysical world posited beyond everyday reality. Tony Federico’s elegant images tell us that a figure offered to our eyes, is constructed by our glances, and can stay, with its well-ordered perfection, in the time-less dimension of the unconscious.
